Animal models of osteosarcoma are mainly used to study the occurrence, development, and treatment of osteosarcoma, which are mainly divided into the following types:
Radionuclide induced model: inducing osteosarcoma in animals through radionuclide.
Chemical induction model: Using specific chemical substances, such as DMBA, to induce the production of osteosarcoma in animals.
Biological oncogenic factor induction model: inducing osteosarcoma in animals through biological oncogenic factors, such as specific gene mutations.
Xenograft model: Transplanting human osteosarcoma cells or tissues into animal bodies, such as nude mice.
Transgenic mouse model: Through genetic engineering technology, specific genes in mice are altered to induce the occurrence of osteosarcoma.
The most widely used model currently is xenograft model.
