Lymphoma animal models mainly include xenograft models, genetic engineering models, and inducible models.
The syngeneic lymphoma animal model involves inoculating tumor cell lines from the same background into immunically sound inbred mice. The advantage of this model is that the recipient mice have an intact murine-derived immune system with full immunoreactivity, and their immune system is compatible with the syngeneic transplanted tumor tissues, which maximally mimics the real-life conditions of the tumor microenvironment. In addition, this model is reproducible and manipulable and is suitable for large-scale screening.
The construction of the syngeneic lymphoma animal model usually selects wild mice such as C57BL/6 or BALB/c as recipients, and the vaccination site is generally subcutaneous, orthotopic, or systemic injection.
However, the drawback of this model is that the transplanted mouse tissue may not fully represent the complexity of human tumors in clinical settings. Therefore, when selecting animal models, it is necessary to consider various factors comprehensively based on the research purpose and actual needs.
